Berkeley… Should I be surprised?

Here I am again, sitting at my desk wondering why I am surprised the ultra liberal wackos in Berkeley have gone nuts on the marine recruitment center.

On Feb. 1st The Berkeley city council took steps to boot Marine recruitment from the town. On the 2nd protesters took up the call and chained themselves to the center. The response from conservative bloggers has been swift citing that while Berkeley wants NOTHING to do with Marine recruitment, they are more than happy to receive over 2 million in ear-marked funds from the government that were not voted on. Senator Jim DeMent R-S.C in reaction to this has proposed the ear-marked funds should instead be given to the marines. Which of course is causing an uproar with the elitists in Berkeley. Why should Berkeley officials expect to get government benefit without supporting government causes?

Head over to Michelles Malkin’s blog and check out the up-to-date details.

Then get to MoveAmericaForward and sign the online petition against Berkeley’s temper tantrum.
